Leia Amidala Skywalker as Planetary Representative

What If… Anakin Skywalker decides to resign from Jedi Order, although he refuses to tell the council why, after Padmé tells him she pregnant. After Anakin dreams about Padmé dying while giving birth, he convinces her to leave early for Naboo where they tell her family about their clandestine marriage. Unknowingly because the couple wasn’t on Coruscant, they thwarted Palpatine’s plans for Anakin and prevailed him from turning to the dark side. Nor was Anakin present when the Jedi confronted when Mace Windu killed Sidious. Next two decades or so Anakin and Padmé try raise to their children all the while the Republic is falling apart and wars break out around them…

Leia waited and watched as handmaidens undressed her friend, pealing away layer after layer of clothing. Removing all the finery that made Sosha Soruna the ruling Monarch of Naboo,“I’m so glad robes that the robes of Planetary Representative are far less restricting and defiantly more practical than your royal robes.”

“Is that why you didn’t run for Queen.” Sosha teased back as a handmaiden unpinned her hair from the intricate style it had been styled in. “You do know you are your cousin’s most likely replacement as Senator do you.”

Leia couldn’t stop an unladylike snort. “According to my mother, regal robes are still worse.” Before sobering up quickly as she stared out of the window. “Also we do not know if the Republic hasn’t fallen apart by the time Pooja is ready to retire.”

The Queen came to stand next to her, as the watched the sun set over Theed. Neither of them willing to break the serenity of the a moment just yet. “Unfortunately, the most likely conclusion.” Sosha finally admired before adding. “Your mother has advised Boss Lyonie and myself to prepare for the worst.”

Leia turned her face to study her childhood friend, without the white face paint, she could see how tired Soruna was. “Is that why you’re improving the planet’s defenses?”

“So you noticed… the adjustments. Did anyone else.”

Leia shook her head in negative. “Just me, not even the security staff noticed.”

“I always forget that you are a Knight.”

“Most people do.”
