What If… Queen Amidala and her handmaidens were able to escape the Trade Federation during Fall of Theed because of the sacrifice of Captain Panaka and some of his men. But they’re unable to leave the planet not do they meet up with the Jedi (who weren’t able to get of the ship) instead they meet a clumsy Gungan named Jar Jar Binks and thus the first seed of rebellion are sown.

Months later the Gungans and the Naboo are working together to free their planet from the Trade federation but while the Gungans face the droid armies head on, the Naboo rely on other methods then open warfare. And so the Handmaidens spy, sabotage and even succeed in assassinating a high ranking Nemodian or two all the while hoping that one day Naboo will be theirs again…

Rabé liked to think she has become more then a capable mechanic, then again she knows for sure that she is one of the few Naboo who knew how to repair a tribubble bongo, which required a lot of patience something most of fellow handmaidens lacked. It certainly was a lot easier to fix a bongo then to try and style Padmé’s hair, with the limited beauty supplies they had, when she needed to make an appearance as Queen Amidala in full regalia. Still the fact that the Gungans allowed her, a human, to work on of their heroes submarine was a testament of her skill as mechanic.

“Well Captain, the bad news she took quite a punch.”

Besides her Captain Roos Tarpals nodded sadly, but unsurprised by the news. “Yousa thinks yousa can fix-a?”

“That’s the good news, I can but it will take me a few days.” Rabé explained as she cleaned her hands with a rag. “I will need to replace the parts of the engine and readjust the wiring.”
